A Craving for Healthy Living
Posted on May 28, 2009

How do you know if someone is crazy? As health seminar speaker Julio Barillas said at Tuesday’s meeting, “If they keep doing the same thing everyday, but expect different results!”
When it comes to improving our eating habits, how many of us can admit we might be a little crazy? However, Barillas said health is not just about eating. It involves our
attitude, our relationships and even our "regularity." (Yes, even that.) The overall character of a person should refl ect the likeness of Jesus in how we eat and how we treat others.
Each valuable morsel of information left the audience wanting more. Their ears especially perked when Barillas mentioned the eating style of today’s vegetarian. He encouraged them not to think of being vegetarian as not eating meat, but just eating more natural foods. This means that, even though it's vegetarian, eating a big slice of apple pie or eggplant parmesan from Olive Garden is not natural! And, he says, breakfast should be the biggest and most important meal of the day.
If we want to see different results, we must be honest with ourselves and make real changes. Asking God to change our hearts and minds to crave healthy living can make all the difference, for we are much more capable in His strength. If you want to learn more about living a healthy lifestyle, attend the rest of Julio's seminars in Terrace 305 at
4pm.
